The world’s most crowded regatta, Guinness Book of Records since 1999,take place in Gulf of Trieste, from the Victory Lighthouse to the Miramare Castle: thousands of white sails from all the world. The first mark will traditionally be in Slovenian waters, then the boats sail downwind to the next mark near Miramare. The last leg will be sailed close the shore and the finishing line of this 16-mile course will be located just off the Società Velica Barcola Grignano, the organizer of the regatta. On the Karst view points, along the Barcola seafront,on Molo Audace, along the waterfront of Trieste as far as the Istrian coast, over 300 thousand spectators. A lot of connected events, as for the 38th edition: a great and fun Barcolina, and the historic boats gathering Barcolana Classic, these true jewels of the sea which attracted thousands of spectators.
