If you didn't go to Istanbul, like myself, and would like to be taken there, experiencing all the exhilaration, apprehension, frustration, heartbreak and total euphoria, there are two options I can recommend -
1. Call this bloke up, Michael Bailey, take him down the pub, buy him several beers and listen to him for a few hours. Or
2. Buy this book.
If you are a Liverpool fan this book is a 'must buy'. If you're not a Liverpool fan but follow football with a passion that only our beautiful game can provide, then this book is also for you. If you are not big on football but would enjoy a true story about a man who goes on an unforgettable, proud and yet humble journey, finding the experience of his lifetime, whist acknowledging the privilage of spending every minute in the company of his father, then this book comes highly recommended.
Like any great book, you won't want to put this one down until you've finished it.

A Fantastic Tribute from a Loving Son to Wonderful Father
You bugger, you've got me listening to Fields of Anfield Road, and now I can't stop!
Mum (Aunty Irene to you, cousin) sent me a copy of your book, and I have to say I enjoyed every minute! With another CL final on the way (who'd have thought only 3 seasons ago?), I decided I just had to give it a read, having reluctantly put it aside many times, due to lack of available time. It truly is a wierd sensation when you know the main characters in a book you are reading, personally! I cried, when reading the beginning of the book, Mikey, all the emotion of things past and present hit me like a clenched fist, and I had to put it down for a few minutes whilst I got my sh** together! Your humour is a delight to experience (it's like coming home), coupled with an intelligence and insight that all authors need to tell their story, you take the reader on a wonderful journey to Instanbul, and back. Your book is a touching tribute to a man few of us can really claim to know, but whom all respect greatly. You did well, Mikey...Grandad Bailey would be real proud. You'll be going to Athens then I presume... Time for Volume 2, perhaps...hehe?
All the best
