"Hell Is For The Children" not only pushes the boundaries of obscene fiction, it shatters those boundaries into a million sharp fragments and forces them down your throat. James Patrick Riser is one of my favorite up and coming authors. His grasp on the human psyche and his ability to formulate a well-written, damn good story are insanely obvious in everything he produces. The problem is, this story disturbed me. Deeply.

In my teenage years, I jumped at the chance to get my hands on a book that was dubbed "18+" or offensive. I am no stranger to strong sexuality in fiction, even less of a stranger to what society might label as "inappropriate". Yet "Hell Is For The Children" gave me nightmares. It cut to the core of my hard outer shell and rattled my tough exterior. The main character in this story is the sickest, vilest abomination that you can possibly imagine. Even worse, he is out there. Somewhere. These monsters exist.

I won't recommend this book to my family and friends. I wouldn't dream of it! Riser has, without a doubt, gone too far this time. However, if you have the urge to be disgusted to the point of actual nausea, by all means... read. It's a story you won't soon forget. I promise that.
