Description:

“Leaving Lambert” is the first of two books that portrays a true testament of God’s ability to transform her life. It’s a candid look into her early years growing up in the Northern Mississippi Delta in the late 1960’s. It offers an intimate look into the first fifteen years of her life that were so greatly tormented by a secret world that she was forced to flee her own existence. She lived silently in exile while ‘the people of her mind’ wreaked havoc on her life. The only hope of survival was to wage war against the invisible forces that be and to leave Lambert at all costs.

This book is a must-read, especially if you live in Quitman County. Leaving Lambert will make you look at this area of the Delta in a new light: her life story explains the present conditions of this area and helps one to better understand the lives of children who live here. The author's voice is honest and comes from a deep, deep place that only few people are willing to ever explore within themselves. Her vision to help the children of Lambert is a testament of her commitment to a higher calling. Richmond is a powerful writer and person. She moved me to re-evaluate my own calling; this book will change you.
