Red has long been a favorite color, and now I have another reason why! These poems are real and haunting. I don't know what to add that hasn't already been said, but I felt I had to join in with praise for Songs in Red.

I must say I am overwhelmed by Kathy's poems. So unusual, so different from others. Those haunting lines-Your eyes blink,
curve like brown almonds,
fold over themselves, raw.
My favourite is SONGS IN RED .Written with intense feeling and lyrical grace.Keep penning.

This author has an undeniable talent. The pages are filled with vibrant, original imagery. I especially enjoyed the notes she added to each poem, giving added depth to her work, and insight for those of us who like to get a glimpse of what was happening behind the words.

Kathy, as an RN who has worked with Alzheimer patients (victims?) and their families, I'm so moved by Quiet Times. Your words bring back memories not only of these poor souls, but of any loved one lost to a lingering illness. The power is tremendous.

I also loved Song of Red. So descriptive and mind opening. I swear the little boy with bare feet was walking through my room! Thanks for the great trip. mary sigrist

This author is able to create extremely powerful visual images with a few words. I was caught in the pictures by the end of the first couple of lines. This is especially true of the poem, "After the Crash". The topic illicits intense emotional reactions to the plight of both the mother and the child, and a desire to assist, at the same time, admiring their ability to survive and move on...

Great job! Then intensity of the writings I have seen so far, certainly leave me waiting for more.

A truly inspirational book, each piece captured a part of my imagination in a different way. Songs in Red was by far, one of the best poems I've read in some time. She has grasped the idea of writing with a visual sensation in mind and has captured it perfectly.

Everything that I have read so far from Songs in Red is wonderful!
Kathy captures and shares intimate emotions and paints powerful pictures with her words.
After The Crash is my personal favorite. One can't help but feel emotional ties to both the woman and her child.

Great job Kathy, Write On!

I thank you for being real and not sparing the reader in this snapshot of your life. As untidy as life can be, it is still life, and as unpleasant as it can be "Quiet Time" made me appreciate those moments. A must read!

Hi Kathy,

Didn't know where to leave your review so I will leave it here.

Your bio said as a poet, you cross over to fiction. Your works is written so well as if is was fiction telling stories of hidden secrets. They are so real, that it hits close the home here in America.

If you write fiction as well as these poem, I'll one day see your name for "best film".

Your work is written remarkably well. Each poem tell a good story. They are all about life.

I consider your poems as short stories. They are that good!

Each poem will come to live in the mind of any reader who journeys them. I am convinced that these poems are alive today in so many peoples lives; that they may become a healing medicine to those who read its soothing therapy (if you can touch someone and comfort them they have unconsciously began a healing process).

Cheers,

LaDonna Green

Reading "Quiet Times", brought unbidden tears to my eyes, a haunting reminder of a long-forgotten hospital room, another child losing another pillar of family. The words caressed my mind, refreshing memories, leaving me breathless.
Thank you for opening what should never be closed.
