Description:

Composer/playwright/performer, Neal Fox has been writing songs with social content since his early days at Polydor, RCA and Columbia Records. Several years ago he decided to find out why society was going downhill at an alarming rate. What he found was shocking and disturbing - and hard to believe. His research lead him to write Meat Street, a musical comedy about a planet that's lost its soul. Meat Street revealed some of the mental health industry's dirty little secrets. First came the musical, then the CD, and now--THE BOOK! Some revelations covered inside are: * How mental illnesses are discovered * Why there is an epidemic of mental illness sweeping the world * The New Psychiatry * How disobeying your doctor is a mental illness * The Federal government's plans to screen every man, woman and child for mental illness. So, as electroconvulsive therapy comes into vogue once more, sit back, enjoy the book, and - prepare to be shocked.

So sad and true [ No Rating ] 7 Feb 2007 (updated 7 Feb 2007)
I'm glad this book was written, now I can buy it to smack people with when they get mad at me for refusing to believe in ADHD, or god forbid its adult version. And twice anytime they mention watching MTV *shudders*. Even though I'm familiar with most of the facts given in the preview, the voice of the book makes the info fresh and more of a pleasure to read then the articles and books I've read on the subjects covered. The topics in this book need to be taken seriously for the health of our respective countries and the world as a whole. Author, Jeremiah Donaldson

As an ex health care worker who worked with the mentally ill for a time I have to agree with the author. Things have changed for the worse and the mentally ill are getting a bad deal. I also like the humour injected into this very serious subject it does indeed make the book more readable. I recommend it to anyone who has even a small conscience on this subject it is an eye opener and I guarantee it will shock you.

I can't wait to read the rest. [ No Rating ] 27 Dec 2006
I just read the preview for this book and I can't wait to get it and read the rest. I was told long ago that I was mentally ill because I told a simple truth, I AM the Second Christ and Ronald Reagan was the antiChrist. Since then I have been forced to take medication, (By court order).

Thank you so much for writing the book, I especially look forward to reading the chapter on how to Rule the World. I am hoping that it is a serious chapter that will contain the real insights I need to finish my mission.

As for getting off of SSI or Charity as the author recommends it would be a great thing and I am hoping to do so through the proceeds of my book or through another vehicle. Perhaps a Musical like the one that sparked this book could do it for me. I have invented a light form that you can view at my web site.

If creativity and the ability to entertain, enlighten, amuse and delight were all that were needed for fame and huge fortunes, Neal Fox would be making Bill Gates look poor. The world needs his creations! Enjoy his book and then his amazing music!
