Description:Every year there are two times when the sun stands still, mid-winter, Dec. 21st, and mid-summer, June 21st. Since the moment in time that people first became aware of thier environment and when they began to wonder how they fit in to the world that they were a part of, the sun was a powerful symbol and could be observed to have come to a stop.
