Detective Callie Rowan’s best friend and partner, Trudy Brown, has just been murdered. Although forbidden to participate on the case, Callie finds herself making risky, but necessary choices. She teams up with Detective Evan Pochesko, an old Police Academy friend, who is laden with baggage of his own. Working in close proximity the two soon discover, though the evidence trail is cooling, things are definitely heating up between them. Hard choices face Callie and the thick walls of protection she’d built around her heart so long ago begin to crumble. As they race against time and the lack of concrete evidence, Callie unwittingly alerts the murderer that suspicion points toward him.
