He gave up a substantial inheritance in order to lead a life that valued freedom more than money. He went to prison rather than see someone be abused. He gave up his celebrity status as an Irish writer when, extraordinarily, he began to convey to others a completely unique and developing understanding about leading a spiritual life. This book confirmed for me that Brian was a "true blue". Brian's life stands up to the closest scrutiny and I believe he attained a goal that few people have reached before. Jim Bruce's telling of Brian's story is a complete pleasure to read. If you are looking for an example of how to live a life that really served God, then read the memoir of "A Faithful Servant"
