I didn't know what to expect from this book. I was intrigued enough however to purchase it. It is truly a beautiful work of art. Farah opens her soul to readers in her selection of poetry and thought, which are amazingly insightful. Further, the author herself (besides her physical beauty) has traveled the globe sharing her life with readers never losing touch with her roots. She appears to appreciate and respect her surroundings and humanity in general. Simple and yet complex, the author is a tortured soul full of love and compassion. I will treasure this work. It has helped me put things into perspective. I wish I could be as open and beautiful as this author.
"I am the lover's gift; I am the wedding wreath;
I am the memory of a moment of happiness;
I am the last gift of the living to the dead;
I am a part of joy and a part of sorrow.
But I look up high to see only the light,
And never look down to see my shadow.
This is wisdom which man must learn."
Khalil Gibran, excerpt from "Song of the Flower"
