Brando Quin announces the release of "The Master Painter," a novel of 1861-1931 epic proportions. The author of his award winning poetry book series, "My Poetry Books by a Frightened Man" in conjunction with Lulu Publishing Company does it again. He draws us into his rich (Irish/English) American heritage..., this time giving us an unforgettable picture of small town characters we love to hate, love to love, and those we want to reach out to dust off and lift up off the page..."
Central, AZ (PRWEB) June 22, 2006 -- Brando Quin in conjunction with Lulu Publishing Company releases the admired Old West novel "The Master Painter". Written as the tale of a young boy named Tapp Holladay who becomes the apprentice to a civil war veteran who is now an Arizona Apache trained artist he calls "The Master".
"Brando Quin does it again, he draws us into his rich [Irish/English] American heritage..., and seduces with precise spare prose. He is not only a gifted poet, but an absolutely essential author and rich spinner of fable."--Poetry vs Time
Quin said he read books like "Treasure Island" by Robert Louis Stevenson and "Moby Dick" by Herman Melville and then patterned his work in the same style."--Stephanie Slater, Eastern Arizona Courier interview 11/04/2006.
The story takes place in the town of Relation Arizona (fictional), A small town with true to life small town characters. In 1931 during the Nations Stock Market Collapse the worst prison breakout in the history of Relation forces young Tapp Holladay's father a "Watcher of Prisoners" to search for a safe place where his young son can hide out, till the vermin are caught and brought to justice! He is brought to a Masterful Artists Palace where a, "Known but true friend" the Master Painter lives.
Frank Berryman, a former Civil War dispatch rider, now an Apache trained magical artist weaves magical paintings that are alive. After a brief artists apprenticeship, the Master Painter mysteriously disappears...leaving young Tapp Holladay to finish what they had started... Tapp Holladay must outwit a ruthless gang of outlaws and reach his assignment, the magical living painting, "Never Ending Wealth" before it falls into the hands of his nemesis destroying the town of Relation.
In 2007, ""The Master Painter"" became notable with several other writers and publishing company's including Susan Giffin from, "The AuthorHouse" who has personally written and/or edited during the past 4 years an impressive list of books including, "Citizen Power: A Mandate for Change" by 2008 presidential candidate and a true American hero, former U.S. Senator Mike Gravel. Giffin had gotten hold of a copy of Quin''s novel, ""The Master Painter"" and found it to be, "A fascinating and magical story!"" Quin and Giffin were introduced and collaborated on his novel and the screenplay he had written based on the book. Quin said, ""Susan, if you could edit and combine the novel I have written with the screenplay I''ve written based upon the novel, I think we would have a hell of a story to tell."" Giffin agreed, and together they indeed have woven a magical book called, ""The Master Painter"" now also published by The AuthorHouse which has helped more than 30,000 authors put their voice in print.
"I found this book a good read. The author has a good command of the English language and I found his descriptions delightful. e.g. "A daughter as pretty as peach pie." I smiled when I saw the expression, "Knocked her clean out." as "clean out" is an expression often heard in the neck of the woods where I was raised. This book has all the ingredients of a good adventure book with the small town setting, the passive aggressive father, cowboys, Indians and the mystical master. I would say keep up the good work but I see Brando Quin has lots of irons in the fire if you check out his storefront!"--Joanne Collicott McGuigan, author of "Child of Danaan", Canada
