Description:

Possessed of natural charm and abilities beyond human perception, Oscar Gallagher is fleeing a past wrought with scandal and treachery. Leaving behind social unrest in England and many powerful enemies, Oscar finds a place among the revolutionaries of the New World. His attentions are drawn foremost to a singular young woman who may influence the outcome of his soul. Mercia Sinclair has aspirations toward evangelism. Her most outspoken critic is none other than the wayward sea captain, blown into the Colonies amidst grave speculation for his crimes abroad. Enthralled with his powers of persuasion but offended by his attempts to influence her fate, Mercia unwillingly becomes a pawn in a deadly game of social rivalries and personal vendettas as the battle between Oscar Gallagher and Louis Fitzgerald escalates against the mighty backdrop of the American Revolution.

I just want to tell you that I just finished your second book and I am both happy and sad. Happy the way it ended but sad that there will be no more books with Oscar in them. You had me completely guessing on many points in the book and when you did write what might have normally been the expected, turn of events, it was written in such a way that it still took my breath away. I have read well over 1,000 novels in my life so far, and yours is among the most enjoyable and among the best written.
