Description:

Ombabika Bay is a long poem taken from the journals of Charlie Shapwaykeesic. The people of the village of Ombabika Bay have asked Charlie to assume the role of Shaman. Accessing the memories of his ancestors, Charlie weaves a story of the Muskego from ancient times to the present day. The setting is the fictional village of Ombabika Bay, situated on the north shore of Lake Nipigon in northwestern Ontario. The people are of the First Nations Swampy Cree or Muskego tribe.
