Description:

An Angel’s Kiss is the factual story of the birth and subsequent struggle for survival of a child born with a cancer that afflicts only .2% of all people diagnosed each year. Readers are taken through the author’s pregnancy, delivery, her son’s diagnosis of adrenocortical carcinoma, and ultimately her unrelenting depression. It is a realistic account of a mother’s fight to save her son’s life, to reclaim her family, and in the end to save her from the guilt that she allowed to consume her for years. Krajewski speaks honestly about the emotions most mothers don’t want to admit feeling. Her candidness spins a tale of fear and grief. It shows the raw pain that this monster of a disease causes. Krajewski has given readers the opportunity to stand in her shoes and experience something nobody should endure; however, in the end it is a story of survival, determination, a mother’s refusal to allow her child to become a statistic, and ultimately inspiration.

Where do I begin to explain the impact this book has had on my life. While the author takes you through her unspeakable journey she makes you feel her every disappointment, every joyous moment and every heart aching tear. No one should have to go through what this family has endured but the truth is people fight battles like this everyday. This book is a valuable resource to anyone who finds themselves on any of life's dark roads. As a mother, this book has impacted me, my son and anyone who is a part of my life. This story shows us how valuable life is and that miracles are possible.

This is the kind of book you'll read, then RE-read, then insist friends read!
{But you'll hound them to get your copy back, for fear of losing it!}

Buffy has the ability to draw you into her story, like no other writer ever has.
Before you turn the first page; get a babysitter, order in, ask your significant other to run the errands, call in sick to work, rest up and have a shower, because once you start reading, you WILL ignore the rest of the world, until you turn the very last page!

I know this writer, I know and love her family, and unfortunately, I know this cancer, too...
but still, the power of her experiences, and the soulful and eloquent way she has chronicled them here,
enlightened and enriched my spirit as deeply as it will anyone who is new to her story.
I didn't expect that-
I expected to finish it, and only come away with a better understanding of who SHE is as a mother, and a person I love...
because I already knew her experiences SO well.

I was wrong.

I came away with a better understanding of who I AM as well, and with a renewed sense of hope and strength, for the rest of MY own personal journey. If this small but mighty 'Mamma bear' could take on all that she did, and not only survive, but OVERCOME, then surely I could too, with inspiration like that, to fuel me!

Her incredibly descriptive passages allowed me to walk in HER shoes, but also put me so 'in the moment', that I found myself fighting HER fight, and spilling HER tears, along with my own.
And, I found myself celebrating her triumph at the end as well; as though it WERE my own.

Tristan IS a miracle.
Even were he NOT the survivor of such a harrowing beginning to life; he would be a blessed, and beloved child to us all...
but the fact that he has come through challenges that would break the spirits of strong men TEN times his size,
with such irrepressible strength, and humour, and joy...
keeps us all from ever uttering the words' 'It's too HARD', when we have to face our own challenges, EVER again.

Though you will embark on a deep and emotional journey by opening this book...
you MUST understand, that the destination each page leads you to closer to; is HOPE
and once you have closed the back cover,
you will never think any adversity insurmountable again... nor any goal, too far out of reach.

I don't know from where the exact 'seed' of inspiration is first planted in the reader, as they surrender themselves to this story...
whether it comes from Tristan, or Buffy... (in some ways though, they become ONE entity born of the fight)
I only know that WHEN you leave this story behind and go back to the 'real world',
you WILL be changed.
You WILL be inspired.
You will be GRATEFUL, for all your own blessings,
and for the way that this talented writer and incredible little boy, have touched your soul.

Wonderful story of a mother's love!

I just finished this book and hated to put it down, it was excellent. A mother's love is stronger than anything and this book shows exactly that. All mother's will be able to relate to Buffy and her struggles of finding out the baby she was carrying was sick and most likely would not survive to being his "everything" and in the end because of her, he survived and is thriving against all odds. Even moms of healthy kids will be able to relate to her struggles as a mom. Truely inspiring story.

I could hardly put the book down. My 25 year old daughter is a childhood cancer survivor, now pregnant with her first child and a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse. Buffy has put into words all the emotions I have felt as a parent in these circumstances. This is a must read book for families going through either childhood cancer, chronic childhood illness of any kind and parents who have experienced their premature newborn in a NICU setting. thank you buffy!!

I am in total awe of you. Your journey has been an extremely hard one but you rose to all the obstacles life threw at you and over came them all. Even when doctors told you your son would not do one thing or another, you never took their word at face value. You KNEW your child and what he is capable of as ONLY a mother would know. All mothers have that dark side we will just never admit to it. You are a brave and inspiring woman! God Bless you and your family on the rest of your journey. The book was wonderfully written and the explanations of the illness were key to really understanding it fully. It was sad and witty at the same time. I loved the names for the doctors whom you did not like, and sobbed like a baby the first time you actually got to hold him. Outstanding book. Keep writing!

This book isn't written just for family's who suffer the evil of cancer. It is an inspiring tale of a young woman's journey thru one of life's most tragic events - childhood cancer. BUT this is also a wonderful story for all. Everyone can see a family member or friend who has suffered some black cloud in their life, not just cancer. Read this book, spread its joy to your family, friends and co-workers. Read page one,and you can't put the book down until its finished!! Kudo's to Buffy for sharing her story with the world.

This book was amazing. It was hard to put down. This book is for everyone but especially for those people who feel they have a tough life. All you have to do is read about how Buffy held her son for the first time and you will be grateful for your easy life. You will be inspired. This family went through the single most difficult situation a parent can go through and came out strong. Excellent writing! She explained the situations in such detail that you felt what she was going through. Not a day goes by that I don't think about Tristan, the miracle baby, and the angel's kiss...
Great writer and A Heartfelt Book!!

I LOVE THIS BOOK!!
I want to start out by saying I am NOT a reader of books. But I could not put it down once I started reading it. The book had me in tears at times to pure happiness at other times. It was so well written, Buffy takes you through all her thoughts and feelings in such a way, it was like I was her and going through it all. It really touched my heart. I would recommend this to anyone who loves to read and people like me who dont, this book gets your hooked from the very first few opening words. Buffy is such an inspiration to all women to trust your motherly instinct and fight for what you know is right. She is a brave person to go through all she did and then find the strength to put it down in words. She should be so proud!! This book should be on the Oprah's book club list in my eye's. Buffy is an amazing women and writer and most of all a loving mother of that amazing and miracle boy named Tristan!!

I read the whole book in one day,not only was this book heart wrenching but it was inspiring,I could not put it down. Everyone should buy this book to help raise awareness for this type of cancer.

This book is absolutely heart wrenching. From the first page I found it impossible to put down and ended up reading it completely in one sitting. I found myself sobbing because the author's pain felt so real yet by the end I was crying tears of happiness. The fact that this book is a true story about her experience is amazing! I have never heard of anyone actually having cancer while still in the womb yet that is actually what happened during her prgnancy with her son. I felt like I was reading fiction because of the style of writing yet I was constantly reminded of the truth of what actually happened. I give the author a tremendous amount of credit for her honesty and the fact that she didn't sugar coat her feelings to be politically correct. I have never been in her shoes but I am sure she isn't the only person to feel the way she did. This book is such an amazing account of a mother's love for her child and how much she is willing to sacrifice of herself for her family. It is the type of book that will stick with me for a long time! Anyone who reads this book and doesn't give it a great review doesn't know what they are talking about and anyone who decides not to read this book doesn't know what they are missing!
