Description:

Johnson soon found out that the corporate world involved too many things that didn't have anything to do with work at all. Things like company 'fun days', outward bound team-building events, psychometric testing, diversity audits, motivational tools and other associated bulls**t. None of your Business is a comic novel which features a rich succession of incompetents, bullies, oddballs and idiots who lead to Johnson becoming increasingly unhinged and reckless. As disillusion takes a grip, Johnson's thoughts turn to revenge. Although Philip Bryer has experienced some success as a freelance contributor to magazines, this is his first novel.

For those of you who have to put up with “Team Building” and the like, this book could get you into serious trouble if you attempted to copy any of Johnson’s antics. Frequent bouts of sniggering and some instances of laughing out loud mean that reading this book in public could be termed a little risky. You get the impression that some of it is just too lifelike to be totally fiction. Excellent first novel.

A book that makes you laugh, and all the while it's also making you think. The dialogue crackles with wit and invention while the writer ensures that the plot doesn't fall victim to its own gathering momentum. A much deserved boot up the rear end for the self-satisfied corporate world and a poke in the eye for all that Alan Sugar Apprentice nonsense. Surely, possessing a desire to work for Amstrad must mean that you've failed the intelligence test before you've even started?
This book, however, is smart, funny, and, yes, intelligent.
Highly recommended.

I loved this book - it is hilarious - nonsense team building events organised by the bullies, stupid psychometric testing devised by the deranged - people joining in with the lunacy disguised as 'fun' days. Johnson is not alone - anyone who has worked in 'corporate' or in fact anywhere atall will recognise themselves somewhere in this hilarious read. None Of Your Business does have a dark side and Johnson is my hero but would i want him on my team ? Philip Bryer i await your next book.

Anyone who's ever had a job should read this book. It cuts to the bone of the all-too-prevalent self-importance, absurdity and arrogance of corporate life, and the main character, Johnson is a hero for our times. And, it makes you laugh

This book is a laugh out loud page turner with a dark side. Anyone who has ever worked in an office will appreciate the humour and the fun that is poked at the corporate bull***t. Anyone alive will recognise the uncertainty, pain and confusion of relationships. I reckon that there is a little bit of Johnson inside all of us or maybe we would like there to be. Many stars awarded by me ***********
