Description:This is so unfinished...but I told someone I would try this AAD thing, and well...I did...and...this shows you how slow I am. The biggest problem (other than me trying to be a perfectionist and all that) is that I'm really not good with guitar (I've only been playing for probably a little more than a year and a half...and I need to learn notes past the first fret)...anyway, I'll finish these songs later and smack them on that album I've been talking about putting up. finally you are on the board, so to speak.... putting out your music.
Don't worry about being profecient on the guitar. There are countless profecient guitar players who are boring as hell. Worry about being interesting!
That's the key!
crooked grins: the guitar is haunting and interesting... nice sound to it.
your voice: more than nice enough to feature up front...the texture is "smoky gray" - i don't know what the means, however!
Are you still shy about using your voice? Then again, on this song, it goes along with the guitar.
PS you got the same mic problems as me... when the vocal mic goes off, a lot of buzz goes away!
"I'm afraid you'll grow tired of me" Good title! Good titles always draw a play for me. already it seems that your guitar playing is not as limited as I thought in the first song, and your voice is clearer here and even better sounding. The texture to your voice is more rock and roll sounding than in the first track, even better sounding. You can hit higher notes well. Dude, let me be direct - you gotta sing with conviction and courage, and you're voice will be GREAT! I think singers sometimes try to hide their voice, or mask it with effects, when, ironically, you'd sound better just putting your voice up front, high in the mix, and just leave it as it is!
As for guitar playing, it's pretty clear to me that if you spend time on a track, you can go over it and improve the guitar sound. Rerecord weaker parts, edit it, etc. I can't play more than 5 notes in a row without a mistake, so i edit everything until it sounds like I know how to play!
"somehow this got into my head" another good title. You decided to add some effects to your voice? I think your second track here shows that you oughta go ahead and feature your voice as it is....(the more you do that, the more confidence you'll have, and the stronger it will become)
Happier song - what do you use for drumming? You need to get some good drum programs, like HammerHead. It's freeware.
Otherwise, this song has the most potential (!!)... the brief chorus sounded strong. I had to listen to it a few times in a row because it is so brief. I'd suggest redoing this song, and putting your voice up front so we can hear it. You mumbled on this one. The first and particulary the second track here are best because of your voice. Oddly enough, I think this is the best song - if you redo it.
By the way, heck of a good try at an album in a day! I give you two thumbs up because it's pretty clear that you are going to improve and improve daily, and I need room in my voting to prepare for it!

Awesome! They are good songs! I wish I could hear your voice more though!! :)
Yah, it seems like it would be easy to get 20 minutes of songs in a day, but if you start later or something it's harder. Also, the days I've done them I think I've just been super motivated or something!! I always pick Sundays too. Days where I wont get distracted by other stuff I have to do.
I really think these songs rock and you should do more!!! More!!! :)

2 of the songs on this err..."album" I just made up along the way..."Somehow This Got in My Head" and "I'm Afraid You'll Grow Tired of Me"...basically, I just started recording and hoped that I played stuff that was in tune...and...you'll notice...sometimes hoping wasn't enough. The singing pretty much went the same way...the only "song" that has written lyrics really is "Somehow This Got in My Head"...and they ain't really sung that great b/c I didn't know where the music was going. As for the singing in the others...not knowing what I'm saying takes away the goodness for me, eh heh. But yeah...I'll finish these...do some major editing and stuff to turn them into good stuff.
