Description:

Is there life on Mars?

The question has begged an answer for hundreds of years. The official answer is: we don't know.

If life is found, it suggests that any place with liquid water will likely develop life.

If not, then we may be very, very alone.

Astronomer and computer scientist L. D. Smith suggests that Mars does have life in his novel The Evolution Of Oracle Dodd. Open the cover and enter a malevolent labyrinth of caves beneath the Martian surface in the final exploration for Martian life. Dare to experience and be confounded by the perils therein.

The novel was entered into the 15th Annual International Self-Published Book Awards contest.

Here's some of the judge's commentary:

This is a very good book and at times is hard to put down. As a matter of fact, as I'm writing this review I feel like reading it again. There are unexpected outcomes and suspense at every turn. Not to mention, the fascinating realism. Yep, after I post this review I'm going to start reading The Evolution of Oracle Dodd again.

L.D. has done it again.

After another week long session of late night reading, this book just wouldn't put me to sleep. This story is not only entertaining in a science fiction kind of way, it also points out some of the common inadequacies of government. These folks are under a serious time crunch which is put apon them due to unethical politics (apparently a common practice).

L.D. has once again harnessed his uncanny ability to use those unexpected, yet completely appropriate analogies.

Please Please Please let me know when your next book comes out.

The story really captured my attention. It had good suspense, and Oracle Dodd was a very interesting character. I didn't want to put the book down.
