Printed: 80 pages, 8.5" x 11", saddle-stitch binding, black and white interior ink Description:Tales From the Pulps reprints stories which first appeared in the old-time pulp magazines, the pulp pages of newspapers, the slick pages of magazines, and an occasional story which has never appeared in magazine form before. In this first issue, we present the first magazine appearance of Edgar Rice Burroughs' THE TARZAN TWINS; an air-mystery story by Frederick C. Davis, THE SKY PIRATE; a Crime Spectacularist story by Lester Dent (better known as Kenneth Robeson, who wrote most of the Doc Savage stories), HELL IN BOXES; Perry Mason creator Erle Stanley Gardner with THE POLICE OF THE HOUSE, an early Spicy/Breezy type story; and Otis Adelbert Kline, an Edgar Rice Burroughs contemporary, who wrote a series of sci-fi stories set on Venus and Mars, CITY SLICKERS. The stories are illustrated with the original artwork which accompanied their initial publication. Listed in: |
