From its launch on April 28, 2006 as SLR Shooters, Light Cafe has striven to be a photography forum with a difference. Rules are kept to a minimum, in order to encourage open, honest and thorough discussion of photographs, with the goal of helping all members improve their craft. There are no limits to the number or size of photos posted (sorry dial up users). The only real rule is to be respectful to each other.

In its first eight months of existence, Light Cafe has grown to approximately 150 users, who have posted over 30,000 messages in more than 3500 threads. Several hundred high-quality photos have been posted by some very talented photographers. The photos in this collection represent just a small set of the many fine images produced by members of the Light Cafe.
