Description:

Life in early La Florida may not have been as history has been written. Native Americans from this region are said to have lived for centuries due to the inexplicable power of a source of water. Early explorers went in search of this “Fountain of Youth” only to come back disappointed. The truth is that it was hidden from their view by a special tribe devoted to its protection. Young Lieutenant Stephen Hathorne, shipwrecked in La Florida in 1808 will discover the secrets of this tribe if he can survive the trip. Indeed, he discovers that he and his own family are responsible for their very existence! Traveling through threads of time itself and dangers beyond comprehension, Stephen and his new-found love will have to face a madman from the future before they can find peace in the past.

A delightful combination of adventure, romance and suspense tied together in one historic novel. Being a native Floridian, it allows me to walk where I've been and where I'd like to be. I'm familiar with many of the landmarks refered to in the story which make it realistic and at the same time allow one to fantasize over the possibilities. I anxiously await the next volume!

This is first time travel book I have read. I found it to be a very interesting book, one that was hard to stop reading.

As a native Floridian, I was fascinated with the Florida history, finding it to be factual.

I thought the plot was well conceived and thougnt out. The story lines were continued through the time lines.

The characters were believable, and had well rounded personalities.

I am a history buff, and the history combined with the time travel made a very interesting, well written story. the story was full of action and mystery, both favorite subjects of mine.

I would like to read more of this author's works.
Could not put it down!

Mr. Brooks knows how to get a reader's attention and then HOLD it. His wonderful imagination leads the reader back to the past, into the future and ultimately to pure enjoyment!
