A spellbinding series of short works. "Plungers" has the scope, the audacity, and the bite to hook you and reel you in one story at a time. The humor and insight of Mr. Yee's narrators constitute enough material to fuel a professional standup comic for a lifetime. Yet, at the same time, I could not close the maddening pages for sheer love and obsession for deep personalities. Mr. Yee's stories and the people who inhabit them are dark, complex, and bold.
