Robert, I am delighted to tell you that I am overwhelmed with your book "Mind Monsters". I have read several stories inside but have not completed the book yet. You are an awesome writer and You really know your Genre type. My hat's off to you and I rate you high on my list for one of the best Sci-fi writers' of our time. I would like to also recomend another author to you in which I found to be very good. Mark Jeffrey's book " The pocket & the Pendant" I read the preview and found it to be very interesting. Just thought you might also enjoy it. Best regards ,

Mr Montesino has a unique story-telling style and writes in a genre that is almost entirely his own creation. These are parables with a dream-like quality, designed to spark-off trains of thought in the reader. They are open-ended and sketchy, not literal or over-written but whimsical and surreal pointers towards things we already know and half remember at some level. The title story tells us not to be too smug in our beliefs and assumptions, the world might turn out to be very different to how we think it is. This is followed by an account of a petty criminal discovering that there is a moral order in the universe and retribution can not be evaded for ever. The third story deals with a voluntary act giving meaning to a meaningless life. Number five is an account of a meeting between a street preacher and one of his congregation where again we glimpse a deeper and darker reality. The sixth story is another straight parable, this time about what it is that we are running from in the rat race of modern urban life. The rest you can read for yourselves. These stories are quirky and individual and if Mr Montesino's work connects with you you will find them haunting and thought-provoking, as well as totally unique. Mr Montesino, in the words of the old Mad Magazine slogan, is number one in a field of one.
The main source of entertainment in regards to Robert's brand of storytelling is the complexity of both the plots he so expertly weaves and the characters sewn into those plots. A truly original voice in speculative fiction, I am proud to call this fine author a 'brother in arms' within the internet writing realm.
This collection is rich in diversity and long on thrills.

this piece is EXCELLENT. the ending was TOTALLY unexpected, you held us firmly in your grasp as you directed this story toward its, really, inevitable conclusion. this is the first piece i've read in a long time of this type where i felt that someone did something truly different. and, of course, the spiritual aspect is just my cup of tea! LOL good work, robert! write on!

This was a great story. I liked your style here, Robert. You sucked me in easily. The ending was stunning. Yes, "NewMan" got his wish but some people might never be willing to go out on the limb on that. A lot of people never truly get to be alive. I love how this story communicated that.

What a wonderful way to end my Sunday morning. I sit in my office and watch the sun rise each day and hope to be moved by one little something, a rabbit in the yard, bird song...the antics of my funny little dog and his feline buddy...this morning was even more special and I finished this very moving story with tears in my eyes. You are very talented and have the gift of evoking strong emotional response with your story telling. once again thank you.

You've shown us the Christ Consciousness, possible for every man, woman or child given Breath by our Creator. And for once you haven't killed off your characters; instead you showed us Grace, Humility, Love and Compasssion.
The Sparrow's Song will remain in my heart and soul. We can all learn to love as God loves, no matter how far down the road into darkness we have gone.
You are gaining the courage to speak your own soul, Robert. A real writer, one who is not afraid of conflict with his readers. It takes many of us long years to get past this hurdle, and you've already done it.

Robert does have a distinctive voice when it comes to writing, and this is one story that proves that. I highly recommend this collection and after reading a few of his poems, as well as his horror titles. Robert is definately a writer to watch, for the short amount of time he's been writing the talents he has is something that outweighs everything that is out there now. The Sparrow's Song is one story that grabs the reader from beginning to end as what I read so far of the first three chapters. His writing runs the gauntlet of inspirational fiction to Gothic Horror; this story is one that brings his voice to a commanding power.

An outstanding collection. A crisp original voice that strikes a balance between action and insight. Stories are deep, thoughtful, humorous at times, exploring the hidden depths of the mind and soul. This writer works at many levels, and never disappoints. Having read A SPARROW'S SONG as well as the rest of the collection, I strongly recommend this work.
