Whether caregivers are trained professionals, loving volunteers, or devoted family members, there are stresses, joys, heartaches, and rewards, sometimes all in one day—sometimes all in one hour. This book is an offering of support, a resource, or a place to hide and go apart for just a little while. Included are thoughts on areas of care beyond medical or physical care. A prayer follows each area of care. Also included are short pieces on the various roles caregivers are asked to fill. And there are poems about nature and about angels. It is hoped these words may provide food for the souls of caregivers needing a renewal of spirit. Jane Mary Curran is the Chaplain Supervisor at CarePartners Mountain Area Hospice in Asheville, North Carolina. She is an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church and a certified Spiritual Director. Keywords:Listed in: |
