With some twenty-eight cycles of numbered aphorisms, MAGNUS DEI is something of a magnus opus, even if still at quite some rung-like distance from the top rung of John O'Loughlin's ladder-like literary oeuvre. Nevertheless, with a number of elementally-conditioned quadruplicities and gender-conditioned dichotomies that open up new vistas of insight and logical certitude, this work brings the ideological philosophy of Social Transcendentalism a significant stage closer to its definitive realization, as we analyze the various quadruplicities in relation to the fundamental gender dichotomy which divides objectivity from subjectivity and soma from psyche.
