Description:

THE PULP MAGAZINE SCRAPBOOK by Wooda "Nick" Carr features over 40 years of Letters and Art compiled from the many Writers, Artists, and Publishers of the Pulp Magazines during America's Literary Golden Age! Nick was fortunate enough to know and correspond with people like Walter B. Gibson, Norman Saunders, Ryerson Johnson, Harry Steeger, Norman Daniels, Robert G. Harris, Hascal Giles, Frederick C. Davis, Judson P. Phillips, Donald Wollheim, Hugh B. Cave, Wyatt Blassingame, John Jakes, Richard Wormser, Manly Wade Wellman, Ron Goulart and others too numerous to name. Letters are faithfully scanned to reproduce them in their original form, and together with bits and pieces of artwork, covers, and photos, this is a book that belongs on every pulp lover's bookshelf. This is a true "Scrapbook" that defines an area of Popular Culture that gave us "The Shadow", "Doc Savage", "The Spider", and every type of Action and Adventure you can imagine!

This book is a MUST for pulp researchers and historians as well as fans of the Golden Age of American Pop Literature. Actual correspondence with some of the giants from the pulps both writers and artists. These are not polished, manicured interviews but actual dialogues in thier own words. Its a rare chance to get inside the mind, if even for a brief glimpse, of men like Shadow writer Walter Gibson, Ryerson Johnson, Hugh B Cave, and countless others. Wooda "Nick" Carr has long been one of the premiere pulp historians and this look at his personal communications with the masters is well worth owning.
