The paradox is created by taking things out of context – and also by selectively ignoring one or two important facts. Science as we know it today practises reductionism looking at things under a microscope with blinkers on – whereas the real solution to some of these problems actually needs a holistic and more complex approach. Such issues were beyond the antique philosophers like Darwin, Kant, Newton and Hume whose definition of a mainframe was an abacus but if these guys had had access to even a semi-working copy of windows 95 what we take for science today would probably be unrecognisable and very very workable.
