Big Poppa E is one of the best slam poets I've ever heard. He's absolutely amazing. His quick wit and explosive style is breath-taking. If you've a liking for spoken word poetry, slam poetry, or just a passionate guy trying to get himself out there, Big Poppa E is your man.

You would never think that poetry would make you laugh so hard that you'd cry, but that's what this book did for me. It's really funny, but also really honest and uses a language that is common and unpretentious, meaning he talks like a real person! I loved it, and once my younger brother stole my copy, I had to buy another one! And you should see my brother! He's the total jock loser with a pickup truck who loves football and beer, but even he loved it!

It's simply amazing, He is amazing! Never before have I found poetry to be so funny and entertaining! Big Poppa E is one of my all time favorite poets, right up there with the greats like Langston Hughes. His writing is so real as well as hilarious, his way with words and crowd pleasing performances are what make him such a great poet. I don't see how anyone could not like his work! I would recommend this book to anyone, teenagers and adults alike. You don't have to be a fan of poetry to enjoy this. Pick up a copy, it's a great read!

I thought "poetry" was stupid until I saw Big Poppa E and other slammers perform. Now I'm hooked- and you will be too. Reading the book wouldn't be as fun as seeing the pieces performed live- if it weren't for all of the fun little surprises BPE has added to this book. His passion, love and enthusiasm drips off the page and is therefore not lost in translation from spoken word to print.

Buy this for every young person you know. Read the poems out loud to them and encourage them to do so as well. Teach them how to express their own feelings like BPE does and perhaps the next generation will be better than we could ever imagine.

I first heard about Big Poppa E when I was a high school speech competitor a few years ago, and I always loved hearing his "Wussy Boy Manifesto" at events. I never realized how many AWESOME poems he has written! This is book is so much fun, and it's really moving and funny and I even cried at the very last poem!
