Description:SHADOW SEASON by EVERETTE BELL... This is a spell-binding collection of Dark Fantasy and Strange Worlds that only the brave would enter. This up-and-coming writer is the freshest voice in pulp adventure I've run across in a long time... Sample this anthology and I'm sure you'll agree... He's been compared to such masters of the macabre as Richard Matheson, Robert E. Howard, and Stephen King... Includes: "Shadow Season", "Deadlands", "Ironhorse", "The Mourning Edge Of Iron", "Nystagmus", "A Child Shall Lead Them", "No Sanctuary", and more chilling tales... Keywords:Listed in: |

I've got to read Deadlands as part of his submission for my anthology project. Everette is a writer to keep an eye on because he knows how to kick some ass and then some. If you want to see where he was online, look in the archive of The House of Pain. He's old school horror to the core. I agree with Ron on this one, he is definately influenced by Richard Matheson. You can see it in the short story "Kissed by Hell." He appears in the 2000 edition of The House of Pain archives.
Look for this author on QUAKES AND STORMS with his entry The Lighthouse. What some people say of Shrewsbury being the incarnation of Robert E. Howard, this guy does it a lot better and a lot meaner with the way he delivers his stories. Dark as hell but in parts extremely progressive -- he gets into the scary parts but lets the reader get into it first then he nails you. -- NICKOLAUS PACIONE, HOUSE OF SPIDERS 3
