Description:

Architect, author and artist Hollace M. Metzger was educated in the US, London and Venice, Italy before settling into the New York arts scene for the past eight years. Recently she has been prolific in writing while performing in public salons throughout western Europe and New York City. In addition to writing, her poetic endeavors include collaborations with composers in the US, UK, Canada, across the EU and Romania.

Through words, Observing the Labyrinth's renaissance appeal unfolds revealing itself mysteriously but with refreshing honesty. It will take you on a journey of mind, space and time travel from the past into the future with transporting descriptions of place and the bitter-sweetness of urban life paired with optimism and deep sensual undertones. Through the Labyrinth, you will find a glimpse into the library of the next generation of poets.

I've been carrying this book around with me for a week, savoring it in small bits like Valrhona chocolate. It's that exclusive. That rare. That flavorful.

It's been a long time since a living poet could pry me away from my favorites, but this is a woman who understands word. And she writes about living, not what life has done to her. She carries luggage, not baggage...

Buy this book. And eat Valrhona. They're both good for you.

to read the words of Hollace Metzger is to get a glimpse into the mind of a truly gifted artist. much like everything else she does, (photography, painting, architecture...ect...) all of her soul is put into every poem she writes. inspiring, brave, sensual, sexual...these words barely scratch the surface of this amazing book of highly personal poems.

buy it, read it for yourself, that's all i can say.

Hollace is the quintessential jazz writer. Her poetry has a gonzo journalistic observation about it.

The montage of images, together with her impressions is how most of us really see life as we experience it. It's as if she turn on a video camera to her brain and recorded it as it happens. Reading it is both voyeuristic and at the same time touches a personal cored within us. In that regard, vulnerability becomes a two way street.

Buy her book but with the understanding it will be a highly personal experience.

I met Hollace in Athens where I bought her book. Knowing her, reading her and knowing her again is a delight. Her philosophy on life is revitalizing - contemporary but romantic. Whenever I open her book I am reassured that I am not alone, that my dreams are closer than I realize and that it's okay to think most things I think but hide from other people.
Thank you for spreading your magic in Greece. We needed some. We needed to remember where we came from - our own minds and experiences.

Reading this book to me was like a rejuvenation. Ms.Metzger words lift me directly in her lifestream, breathing her breathe, viewing with her eyes. Like I said, an intense reading experience.

In the "Nothingness" poem ending the Author declare:

"In a sense, nothing has changed,/but everything is different"

Well, this is it. Higly reccomended.

You will find a stranger and a friend in Ms. Metzger's writing. You will find a lover and a mother, a child and a woman who knows far more about life than what many of us hope to know in a lifetime. I highly recommend this book of poetry to anyone who wants to understand him or herself better, to feel at ease with being human, to learn to love again, to evolve through a process of anger to joy, peace to fulfillment, from cover to cover - to feel burning PASSION for life again!

I am sent into daydreams of far away and of long-ago lovers, each and every time I read more of Hollace's book.
This is writing that will last one a lifetime, for it is marvelous and new each time I pick it up.
I highly recommend it to all who enjoy poetry.

Miss Metzger has swooned her online audience into a frenzy and after attending a reading of her work in Dublin in July, I must say, her voice, performance and words remain in mind for months afterwards.

Congratulations on your success and citation in Magazine BLU! I have bought three copies since you signed my first and intend to give them as gifts to people who would be very moved by your unique take on life and the uplifting result of being part of your audience.

Indeed, Observing the Labyrinth WILL be and IS a perfect addition to the library of the next generation of poets.

Thank you.
