Description:

This is the British edition of a games book for parents, teachers, home-schooling families, childcare workers, Cub Scout leaders, and anyone else who supervises or entertains groups of children. The book contains 335 activities, and is divided into three main sections: physical and mental, life skill, and educational. The physical and mental games are for fun and fitness, and can be enjoyed at birthday parties, family get-togethers and weekend outings. The life skill games are especially aimed at Cub and Brownie Leaders, and include map and compass reading, knotting, first aid, home safety and outdoor cooking. The educational games include fun activities in maths, English, science, history, geography, foreign languages, art and music. Teachers and home-schooling families will find this section instructive, stimulating and very unusual. The games are suitable for 7 to 17 year olds, and some of the activities will stretch the minds of even the cleverest teenagers.

This is the most comprehensive book of games I have ever bought. It has games for parties and indoors on rainy days, games about first aid and navigation, and my favourite ones - academic games. My children love the ones about Henry VIII and volcanoes and tsunamis. There are even games about biochemistry, which I didn't think would be possible! The new cover looks great. Lulu covers are O.K. but specially-made ones really make books look so much more attractive. If you like games, you won't be disappointed with this one.

The cover's not much to look at, but what's inside is gold. The games are great and I'm looking forward to the next family camping trip to try some of the outdoor ones. I like the book because it's so comprehensive. There must be a game for every subject you can think of. If you want a games book that gives you something original and different, then this is it.

This book is different from any other games book I've ever seen. It starts off with the old favourites that I used to play as a boy, then has a stack of new ones, including indoor, outdoor, school playground and campfire games. Then it branches off into Cub Scout games that can be enjoyed by anyone, not just Cub Scouts. These games are excellent for encouraging children to start a new hobby or learn some useful life skills. The final third of the book is where things get really interesting. I've never seen such a collection of educational games like this one before. I love the English history games, and the geography and foreign language games. The science games are also amazing. You won't be disappointed if you buy this book.
