Description:

The ship was a sleek silvery vessel with hulls honed from carodium the hardest metal within the universe. Its speed was not that of intergalactic cruisers that patrolled the outer perimeters of the known galaxy. But, it really was never constructed for speed. The Captain was third generation and was on his last voyage with The Ship! Interesting little story. Needs some grammatical editing, and the "surprise twist" at the end is cool until you realize that comets are generally SMALLER than planets.

The writing has a young-adult feel to it, maybe because it's all summary with almost no scene or dialogue. It's got a very Twilight-Zone style ending. Reminds me of something that might be found in an old magazine for children.
Very interesting

This would make a great Sci-Fi Hour Program on television. Too bad that Twilight Zone is no longer active. This would have been fantastic done there for television. I can picture it now as computer generated effects show the images while THE SHIP is out there.
Kept me interested
