The greater part of documentary-writing and documentary-making, whether for public view, television or films, is technique. It is a craft and lends itself to the apprenticeship system of teaching, where the apprentice works with the journeyman and acquires over the months or even the years the skills of his trade. In this writing, I throwing open my workshop to writers and others interested in the craft and giving them an opportunity of working with me through one particular job; the development and writing of a 15-20 minute documentary.
