Thank you so much for posting this. Prior to finding this I felt like I was reading the publishing info in Greek.
You are a kind soul to put this all together and the script was a godsend.

Thanks Dave Merchant for all the barcode info, you really answered all my questions and cut down my research time. Thanks again!
Greatly informative I really appreciate your generosity and recommend it to others with inquiring minds.
I wish I had found this before I designed my first one-piece cover. It's chock full of information about how the barcodes work, what the secondary barcode (90000) is for, and links to some useful sites and tools. If you're new to publishing and thinking about designing a one-piece cover for your book, download this ebook first.

This sounds really nice, but the PDF file offered here does not open with the Linux PDF viewers. Something is fishy.
It does load with Adobe Reader 8 under Windows, and it does seem to be chock full of useful information.
It would be a lot easier if one didn't have to run a virtual machine to view it, but there are worse things in the world (such as running Windows ;) )
