Well, I've just finished reading the first of, hopefully, many novels by JW James.
After not having read an actual "book" for literally decades, I wasn't sure I could get back into the whole "curling up in bed with a good book" mindset. However, it didn't take me long....just a chapter or two....and I was hooked on "Sorrow : A Vampire's Tale". It has all the elements that make a good story idea into a great read...conflict, passion, mystery, complex yet relatable characters, and, of course, a little sex thrown in for good measure.
Whether you're into vampires or not, the story will grab your attention and hold onto it. I found it to be an easy read....the storyline flowing along quite smoothly....but, certainly not a boring read, not by any means. Thanks to all the wonderful detail the author includes, it's easy to visualize each character, as well as identify and understand their individual personalities. Not to say that the way a character presents themself at the beginning of the book is necessarily the way they will be represented at the end. So don't assume predictability, as you will be sadly mistaken.
My suggestion to you is -- BUY THIS BOOK. If you're a die-hard reader, or merely an "I've got nothing else to do so why not read a book" kind of reader, you will thoroughly devour this book...it's just that addicting. Trust me.
I'm now anxiously awaiting the next novel by JW James....hurry up! Author! Author!!
