Transport in Rural Sub Saharan Africa has always been an issue that inhibits health services, development programmes and financial development. The dispersal of rural populations combined with poor road infrastructure and a lack of appropriate local services has created an inequality of wealth and wellbeing. The real challenge is to get that final transport stage in place from services to rural populations.
The eRanger vehicles were designed to provide appropriate, low-cost transport capacity to cover the final link in the transport chain to the front door of rural communities. The design is based on the principle of using a vehicle that is simple, capable and cost effective
