WASTE OF MONEY, DON'T BUY.
I have to say that I am very disappointed at the information that was promised in the advertising the book contains, stated even in the title.
There is lots of information relevant to all the other types of hair loss, but little relevancy to hair loss caused by thyroid. Does the author think the balding thyroid patients care about how to treat all the other, irrelevant hair losses using which drugs or hair care products?
This fluff (even if relied form other doctors's data) is very upsetting to read when one is affected by thyroid hair loss and looks for real help.
All the remaining relevant information is scattered at the end of the book and one has to keep skipping the fluff to find something meaningful.
Besides, it's something that it is easily found everywhere for free, and there is nothing new about what she wrote that thyroid patients don't know, and this book is certainly not a 'Guide'.
I wrote to the author with these questions and never received a response back.
I think it is just a money-making book, riding the wave of success of her previous book.
Very disapointing, WASTE OF MONEY, DON'T BUY.

The first 29 pages really do go in depth on all the causes of hair loss. Then the next 20 or so pages are about basic thyroid problems and diagnosis, a refresher for some of us ancient thyroid sufferers and a bore for some, informative for newly diagnosed or undiagnosed thyroid patients. The next section then deals with treatments for the hair loss. I found it very informative and at least have some ideas now to share with my doctor, about why I am losing my hair. I thought it had new info about hair loss, and a small section on diagnosing thyroid problems that is a repeat for some, but overall good book on hair loss cause and solution.-K.B.-Iowa
I have several of Mary's other books and a lot of the information contained in the hair loss guide can be found in those books. If you already have her thyroid books and autoimmune books, don't bother with this. I wish I would've known it was more of the same as then I wouldn't have bought it. Oh well.
