I don't know if this was the purpose of the novel but Jeremy Robinson has given a phenomenal Christian testimony with the Didymus Contingency. The time travel thriller will keep you glued to its pages like flypaper. More importantly, it will stick to your mind and soul as well. Robinson's portrayal of a human, accessible Christ is a service to Christianity. His blending of real Biblical scenes and fictitious happenings is masterful. His ability to create fantastic dialog between characters is extraordinary. I found his character development of characters like Judas and Jesus to be touching and enlightening. Any Christian would be well-served in reading this work. It will give you a brand new view on how to look at the personalities in the Bible. Mr. Robinson makes it clear that his work is fiction but some of us would love to believe it to be fact. The main characters Tom and David are equally deep and interesting personalities. Their dynamic of a religiously faithful man and a secular-thinking scientist makes for engaging and interesting conversations. Let me say that the ending is nothing short of fantastic.

Bottom-line: If you are a sci-fi fan, buy this novel. If you are a Christian or not, this time bending, roller coaster ride is not to be missed! And you might find yourself thinking about God in the process.

I honestly loved this book and I found I couldn't put it down. In fact, I think that was one of the fastest reads of a novel I had ever done. I needed to know what would happen next, and kept turning pages like mad, devouring the story. The story shot out of the gate full-speed and ended with similarly exciting action and big surprises!! I did not see that twist at the end coming, which ties so beautifully into the very beginning of the story. Very clever, Jeremy! I also really enjoyed the personable nature that you imbued into Jesus and his Disciples - it was fun to get to "know" them that way - they really came alive for me and I found myself appreciating them, and their place in our history even more. Great job!!

I came across this book when I was scoping out Lulu as a possible place to publish the novel I co-authored, Secret of the Sands. The cover of Didymus caught my eye, then I was intrigued by the story itself, then seeing the blurb by James Rollins (one of my favorite authors!) sealed the deal & I bought the book. I was not disappointed!! It really elevated Lulu in my eyes, gave me faith in the process, and hope for future BIG publishing deals. Jeremy - you are an inspiration as an author!!

Best wishes for a stellar writing career!!

A great story, and well written - just like a 'real' book in fact!!
This sort of book should finally put paid to the nonsense talked about self publishing being 'second best'.
Well done!
It has a good plot, which drives you through the story, and is on a theme that would normally not be of interest to me - BUT - it was so well structured that the narrative carried me along without any problems.
Nice ending - more to come?

A great book, full of thought-provoking surprises and well thought out story line. I read it all in one night. I couldn't put it down.
It deals with the central point in time, and is a great book end to my own book Eva-Christ, which deals with the "End-Times."
Great job Jeremy Robinson!

I'd heard a lot about "The Didymus Contingency," and being acquainted with Mr. Robinson through our mutual relationship with Lulu Press, I've been watching his book's success for a while now. I finally got around to reading his book, and I'm very glad I did.

"The Didymus Contingency" is a time-travel adventure first and foremost. While it is a Christian thriller as well, it should be highly entertaining to anyone except those who are blatantly turned off by the ideals of Christianity, as the book's plot does center around these concepts and beliefs.

But the story isn't preachy, and it gives both the perspectives of both a true believer, and a non-believer as well. The science aspects are well developed, though not the primary focus, and the overall plot is very good. There were times when I found myself wanting David and Tom to be a bit more serious about the dangerous and frightening situations they found themselves in, but admittedly, the interaction between these two characters, during both good and bad times, is what really drives the story.

Mr. Robinson also did an excellent job of bringing Jesus and his disciples to life, depicting them as not overly dramatic Shakespearian actors, but as real, living beings. And yet throughout the author makes it clear that Jesus is no less divine because of his physical humanity.

"The Didymus Contingency" is uniquely told Christian thriller, and there seemed to be the hint that more of these adventures are yet to come. And I for one can't wait to read them.

I get a bit nervous with time travel books as they can become too complicated and quite often end up going too far away from a decent story as they are so busy trying to prove how clever they are. This is not the case at all with this book.
It was a very clear premise, and even though the story jumps back and forward quite a bit it is very easy to follow and it is done very well.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to most people who enjoy fiction, not just Science Fiction fans.
Well done.
Great book and well written - What a page turner. [ No Rating ] 25 May 2006 (updated 25 May 2006)
This is one of the best books I have read this year. Easy to read and visualize. You can see yourself walking along with Jesus and the book answers a great deal of questions. If you are a Christian you will love the book but even if you just have questions in your own religious belief you can not help but love the way the author takes you on the journey through biblical times. I cannot imagine anyone not loving this book. It goes on my top shelf.

This is a very interesting and ambitious subject matter and Jeremy handled it very well. I felt like it could be a very good movie. (I think it was first done as a screenplay) Outstanding work tying today's high tech to biblical times and not making it "hokey". Story moves quickly and always had me wondering how he (the author) was going to pull this off. He did! over and over again. My compliments.

Jeremy,

What a great job! I thoroughly enjoyed reading your book and was hooked from the very first chapter. I was sad when I finished reading it because I just wanted to read more and didn’t want it to end. Loved the characters and how you interweaved them through time. Can’t wait for the movie! Good luck on your future sales. You are a very talented writer, and I am looking forward to your future novels.
