Subterraneans’ debut album from 1993 showcased the sometimes alarming personal exorcisms of troubled songwriter and frontman Jude Rawlins, and has subsequently gone down in history as one of rock music’s most unusual and difficult albums. As such it has also earned a cult following, helped also by the inclusion of the single “Dream Fades Into Dark”, which bizarrely became a dancefloor hit in the clubs of northern Europe at the time of it’s release in 1992, despite being a seven minute guitar noise fest in 6/4 time!
