City of Birds is a role-playing game in which you play a citizen of an ancient empire's capital city. Your character is deeply enmeshed in his society and bound to the other protagonists. He has a history and a path. When his life is interrupted, he will be forced to react and forced to change.
In City of Birds there are no numbers and no dice. Characters are defined by their roles and connections to other people. Stones and coins regulate the flow of play, while players share various GM-like duties. Little preparation is needed: you can be up and playing in half an hour.
