Description by the author of the interesting places visited in connection with the scenes referred to in the history of the Bible. At the request of the Committee of Publication, this was combined together and thrown into the form of consecutive chapters, and so constitute, with considerable additional matter, the substance of the present volume. In preparing it, my hope has been that a book might thus be furnished that would be at once attractive to younger readers, and at the same time interesting and profitable to those of maturer years.
