Insipidia Threat-Hamster, ruling giant slug, tries to investigate the problem and is introduced to the Mimblys, a family of feral Celtic immortals, none of whom are entirely sure they want to save the human race. A Chinese immortal arrives on a cloud (naturally) and explains that things are a bit worse than that. Things then get much more complicated, far less explicable, and positively gruesome.
