A selection of photographs I took in Naxos, an island in the Cyclades, Greece, in February 2004. There was snow in Naxos! I was told then that snow at sea level in Naxos was unusual, but with global warming, I understand that there has been snow since! I was on Naxos in March 2009, and saw snow on mountain tops, but not at sea level.
The sequence of the photos is:
Naxos Town over two days
A trip by bus to Filoti, and a walk from Filoti to Chalki (by road, as our usual route cross country looked unpassable!)
Wrap up warm and enjoy! You can also buy a book of "Snow in Naxos" (print or download). NB there is currently a slight technical hitch - the photo you may see on my Lulu storefront is not the snowy view I tried to place there!
