This picture book tells the story of how five cygnets and their parents overcame obstacles to get to the salt marsh on the other side of the road from the nest where the babies were born. First, there was the traffic, until mother swan stood in the middle of the road. The traffic stopped. Then one of the babies was comfortable lying on the road. Once on the other side, the babies did not want to leave the warmth of the blacktop. Next, the wire fence prevented the babies from getting to the marsh. Finally, they made it. The cygnets and their parents paddled off into the southwest. Benbulben the mountain watched over them. The road they crossed is Bundoran Road, outside of Mullaghmore, County Sligo, Ireland.
