Track one of CD:August Ocean Overture. The opening piece is #1-5 of an Ocean Suite. This track segues into Track 2, the Seabreeze theme.
It came out of a fabulous live recording session on the night of July 20, 2007 but was all done in one take.
For weeks I'd been playing variations on this theme (written July 2006) and another dramatic darker Nature mood was forming on Low Strings; I got mad that so many great takes of the Seabreeze melody had vanished into thin air, and it was time to get operational.
The darker intro. came up and I went with it, feeling the mystery of a vast Ocean at night. It rolled over into a Romatic, theme in A minor played in high octaves then crossing hands to do chords. Finally I arrived back on...More >
