Blocks 211/19b and 211/24c was awarded to Kerr Mc Gee and in turn taken over by Statoil (UK) Ltd before relinquished. One exploration well is drilled in license acreage, a dry well.
The main reason for Anergy Ltd screening the additional acreage in blocks UK211/19b and UK211/24c is to illustrate the exploration potential of the remaining potential adjacent to held licenses, in particular the Upper Jurassic play model, which is already proven on Statfjord North Field and in block NO34/7 (Borg Field and the Vigdis Extension development project). Wells NO33/9-15, NO33/9-16 and NO33/9-17 penetrated good quality Upper Jurassic sandstones with oil shows, but failed to find commercial accumulations.
