In 1650, a young teenage boy arrived at the Town of Sandwich, Plymouth Colony, Massachusetts on a boat that had sailed from England. When he got off the boat, the Port Master asked his name. In a thick accent the boy said “Hawk-sie”. It was written down as “Hoxie”. That was the beginning of the HOXIE nmae, and from that boy everyone in the World with the Hoxie name, and all its derivative spellings, is descended.
