These are four very early little pieces originally composed for the piano and arranged for string quartet to be played by beginning musicians (probably ages 12 and younger). The earliest piece was composed when Barber was himself only eight years old. Nearly all markings (tempo, dynamics, articulations, phrasings, bowings) are my own. The sources for these arrangements are Barber's own manuscripts. This book contains the Violin II part and a full score.
