From 1849-1861, John Gould produced a total of 360 different folio sized hand colored stone lithographic Hummingbird plates. They were originally bound into 6 Volumes. In 1887, after Gould’s death, a Supplementary Volume of an additional 58 plates was issued to complete Gould’s work.
