First book in the series. The Threat-Hamsters run the world, as heads of the Scientocracy. The fact that most of the remaining humans are disappearing seems a bit odd, so Insipidia Threat-Hamster tries to find out from the humans if there's anything wrong with that. She finds herself dealing with the Celtic immortals, the Mimblys. There's some question whether anyone wants to save the human race at all. Things then get much less clear.
This was my first book, and I wrote it pretty much as the sort of book I'd like to read. I detest formula writing, and this is about as far removed as I could get.
