Mirza Dawid Gewargis Malik was born in the village of Sapurghan near Urmia, Iran in 1876. He was a prolific writer in both prose and poetry in the Assyrian language. Unfortunately most of his literary output remains in manuscript. This book reproduces the only two works that were ever published: "The Throne of Saliq: The Condition of Assyrianism in the Era of the Incarnation of Our Lord" (Chicago, 1916) and "Notes on the History of Assyria" (Chicago, 1931). Mirza Dawid was an early Assyrian nationalist who worked for the unity of his nation and sought to inspire love and dedication to the Assyrian nation through his writings. (Note: Both books are in the Assyrian language.)
